PRAYERFUL ENCOURAGEMENT & SUPPORT
SPIRITUAL DIRECTION
About
Marsha
I was trained in Spiritual Direction by the Haden Institute in Hendersonville, NC. I serve as the Interim Archdeacon - First Coast East and West Regions of the Episcopal Diocese of Florida and as one of the Deacons at Christ Episcopal Church in Ponte Vedra Beach, FL where I served as the Pastoral Care Director for several years.
As a Spiritual Director I am committed to deep and holy listening. My goal is to offer a container where we can openly and safely journey together.
What Is
Spiritual Direction?
Spiritual Direction is soul work – not head work. It is a wonderful journey not a destination. The most important role of a Spiritual Director is to be a companion on the unique journey of each spiritual directee. The relationship is built on trust, confidentiality and mutual respect.
A Typical
Session
Sessions typically last for one hour and generally scheduled on a monthly basis. The Directee shares their experiences, encounters with the Divine and challenges they face. As the Director, I will listen to your words but also seek to identify underlying challenges you may be facing. It is my role to help you discern the presence and movement of the Divine in your life as well as identify opportunities for growth and even transformation. While I may offer insights and suggest practices, my primary role is to guide to a deeper relationship with the Divine. My primary goal in each session is to guide you toward a deeper sense of presence of the Divine.
